So what is your solution , Chris. Let the mullahs and the Basij forces continue murder Iranians? Just yesterday the few Muslim thugs left in the street kidnapped two young people, gang raped the female, whilst her brother watched. Then they told their father- don’t rescue us, we ask for forgiveness -we will kill ourselves. Some pain to our entitled lives is not a bad thing to try to put a humane government in Iran and cut off the proxies.

As Trump says "Dig baby dig"

What use are our resources if we don't use them.

Why is there no discussion of developing Australia's oil and vast gas deposits?

Why doesn't the panicked govt allow more exploration drilling and development of our resources.

O yes we have to get to net zero!

Despite being virtually energy self reliant 30 years ago, by virtue of an abundant array of fossil fuels and refining capacity built by previous generations Australia decided to forfeit and squander that advantage in order to save the planet from ‘climate change.’

But, as recent events have proved once again that in times of political turmoil, nations would rather save themselves. This makes a complete mockery of the climate change dooms day narrative… and almost all left wing ideology.

Australia, the land where we export the majority of our gas, but leave little for our own consumption for either energy (domestic and industry) or for our own fertilizer-making industry. We import 90+% of our nitrogen fertiliser needs, all the while we have this funny gassy stuff moving offshore but not using it to make our own via the above mentioned Haber-Bosch process.

Madness.

We started unwinding our energy independence before net zero was a thing. Is there something bigger at play?

Sad article but well written. Also, well done for being the first (in my reading, anyway) to raise the horrific spectre that the Iranian regime could simply choose to destroy Kharg Island fuel stores, the port, and offshore oil wells, in an act of malevolent self-destruction. I remain perplexed that this doesn't appear to be considered a risk by the US administration (publicly, at least, I suppose).

The Israel/US/NATO/UK axis is busy digging its own grave. Let's not join in.

Liquefaction - it’s how Germany still functioned during WW2, South Africa in the Apartheid era (plants still in place I believe) and China uses (probably our lignite too).

This should be started by our Federal Government to replace the reserve program. A fuel version of our Desalinisation plants.

While this is a very high-stakes venture, it seems a little premature after barely three weeks to imagine that America’s military cannot crush Iran’s military machine.

But will they surrender?

Their Islamic theology teaches war against all infidels, this is repeated every day at the 5 prayer times. 17 times a day, every day, they pray condemning Jews and all Christians.

The Mardi, the 12 Imam will come back to life to save them in a big war from another figure, who they are saying is the devil Trump. For 40 years they have taught 90 million people that the US is the big satan, death to America, and to the little satan Israel.

They are leading the war to get control of every person in the world, under moslem control, summit or die.

If they die then they are a martyrs and guaranteed to go direct to paradise for ever, with 2 boys and 70 virgin's each, to enjoy for ever.
