So much about which to be concerned, but this single statement really blew my mind: “China was a major supplier of jet fuel to Australia,” How and why such an energy rich country like Australia allowed itself to get into this position beggars belief. How utterly humiliating that Albo had to crawl on his knees to Malaysia, Singapore, et al for emergency energy assistance when Australia should and could be leading the way for the region. Screw China, and Malaysia, if they can't help the poor white/brown trash of Asia then really we should reciprocate now. We need to build more Gas to Liquid (GTL) refineries, so value add to our gas and energy proof our country. selling everything as raw and unimproved, is like 3rd world stuff when you don't have a say in how things operate, which is exactly how it is. We are screwed for at least another decade, as to build anything would be too hard with the Labor mob and LNP are just as hopeless. That raw crude oil gets manufactured by refineries into usable products and transportation fuels to support the 8 billion on this planet.
Planes, ships, trucks, and cars run on transportation fuels manufactured FROM crude oil by multi-billion-dollar refineries.
The world has become dependent on the products and transportation fuels MADE FROM oil, the same products and transportation fuels that unreliable green electricity from Wind and Solar CANNOT make!
Energy "REALITY" is that wind turbines and solar panels ONLY generate electricity but CANNOT make any products or transportation fuels for life as we know it.
Basic common sense and logic shows redirect money and resources, be that engineering design, project management, labour and materials from renewables roll out to O&G source and refine.
Force Majeure applications will be required and even more critical how to control union leaders CFMEU and comrades, will be critical as workplace history shows. Who will be the Charles Copeman of Robe River crushing the ‘ too few ice cream flavours!’ dispute for this new $ greed era?

You will find Australia uses about the same amount of petrol it did 50yrs ago....its diesel that increased 5x to cover the growth.
Which government did you work for? What did they do to fix or make the problem worse?
